Marianne Lins is the Vice-President and program committee chair. She has been a member of AAUW Big Bear for a few years and originally joined a San Diego branch after graduating from SDSU in 1987.
With a bachelors degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology, Marianne instead followed her passion as an artist and has been a self-taught graphic designer since 1988. Opportunities in Los Angeles led to a good job with an entertainment advertising agency introducing her to clients like Disney, Fox, Universal, Warner Bros. and others. In 1997 Marianne started her own boutique firm, Lins Graphics, which has allowed her to work from home and therefore move to the mountains eventually.
Clients now include local businesses here in Big Bear like Wyatt’s and the Convention Center, The Pines, Village Business Association, and others.
Working from home allows much freedom like hiking every morning and taking work with her on her travels with her dogs.
Marianne lives in Sugarloaf and continues to work remotely giving her the freedom and independence she so craves.
